Shipping emission inventory for East Asia

Overview >

The shipping emission inventory in East Asia is established based on the Shipping emission inventory model (SEIM) developed by Tsinghua University. The model is developed based on the data from high-precision ship Automatic Identification System (AIS). The underlying database contains about 30 billion AIS signals each year, covering global international fleet activity information. 98% of the AIS signals have a time interval within 6 minutes. Currently, it provides gridded data of annual ship emissions in East Asia with a spatial resolution of 0.1 degrees in 2017, involving SO2, NOx, CO, VOC, PM2.5, OC and BC, which enables multiscale modeling of air quality by chemical transport models.

The SEIM database is developed and maintained by Tsinghua University. If you have any questions, please contact Huan Liu (liu_env@tsinghua.edu.cn).
